Gravity Arena

A competitive sports experience across five modes in a zero-gravity arena

Duration14 months
Team18 people

Project overview

A season-based competitive multiplayer game uniting five different sports modes — each bending the rules of gravity — in a single arena.

Challenge

Five separate sports modes had to feel consistent on the same physics engine while holding 60 FPS and sub-80 ms latency in 5v5 matches. With each mode having its own control language, keeping the player’s muscle memory intact was critical.

Our approach

We designed a shared movement core and layered mode-specific behaviour on top. Authoritative servers, client-side prediction and server reconciliation stabilised the network feel. We balanced the season system and reward curve through simulation to model long-term player retention.
